Stanley Byington, 84, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at Portneuf Medical Center following a prolonged illness. He was born November 25, 1924 in McCammon, Idaho, the son of Joseph and Mildred (Orgill) Byington and stepson of Garnett Byington. He was raised and educated in Pocatello graduating from Pocatello High School in 1943. After graduation he upheld his duty by serving in WWII. He served in England and flew missions over Germany where he was a tail gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber and was able to successfully complete every mission. Stan was working for a traveling photographer in Lewiston, Idaho when he met his sweetheart, Julia L. Marple. He and his beautiful bride were married on July 3rd, 1946 at his parent
