MERIDIAN, IDAHO-Sonia Thyberg Norris, 47, passed away at her home in Meridian Idaho on June 20, 2012. She was born April 27,1965 to Samuel Tad and Roneen Thyberg in Oceanside California. Sonia lived and worked in Blackfoot for many years. She worked at Bingham Memorial Nursing Home and The Potato Expo, during the time at the Expo she helped out with the 1997 flood in Bingham County, she organized getting food out to most everyone affected by the flood. Sonia was always so full of life and a natural caregiver. While in Blackfoot she lived with her mother and youngest brother Rob, when her mom was diagnosed with cancer, Sonia was there to take care of her until her passing. Sonia moved to Pocatello and later married Tom Norris, while living in Pocatello she started going to school at ISU and working at Lowe's. When her husband Tom was diagnosed with cancer again Sonia stepped up, put going to school and working on hold to take care of him. Sonia never thought twice when it came to helping others. Sonia and Tom decided to move to Meridian to be closer to his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Sonia loved being a grandma. Sonia is survived by her husband Tom; four brothers: Sam (Josephine), Ron (Emily), Steven (Melissa), and Robert Thyberg; step-son, Daniel, step-daughter, Amy, and daughter-in-law Brandie; nephews and nieces; Tad, Ryan, Brianna, Nathan, Sam, Sophia, Kian, and Maya; grandchildren; Isaac, Christopher, Cierra, Jakob, and Jolieauna. And many uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by, her father, Samuel Tad Thyberg; mother, Roneen Thyberg; grandparents, and Son-in-law Michael. Sonia will be missed by many. Memorial services are set for Friday, June 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 South 4th Avenue with a visitation one hour only prior to the services at the Funeral Home from 1:00-1:45 P.M. Services will conclude at the Funeral Home.
