Pocatello- Shirlene Mae Turner 82 passed away November 19, 2013 at her home in Pocatello, Id. Shirlene was born the first of 4 children to Grover and Annie Chatterton of Grace, Idaho on February 9th 1931. Growing up in Grace, she attended the local schools there and met the love of her life Newell O. Turner. After marring and moving to Pocatello the happy couple were soon blessed with four wonderful children; Linda, Newell Lynn, Chad, and Teresa. Shirlene was an active member of the LDS community and always took time to remind everyone to pray. As newlyweds she and Newell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Later on after raising their children the two worked hard running a small ranch raising Limousine cattle, growing a beautiful garden, camping, traveling, and spending time with family. Shirlene had a way of making people feel special, turning a rainy day into game time, and being there to wipe away the tears when things were tough. Shirlene enjoyed many years of oil painting, toll crafts, and sewing. Shirlene was a wonderful women that made an everlasting impression on everyone she met. She will truly be missed and forever in our hearts . Shirlene is survived by 3 of her children; Newell Lynn Turner of American Fork, UT, Chad Turner of Pocatello, ID, and Teresa Turner-Benedetti of Pocatello, ID; One sister Ruth Edwards; 9 Grandchildren, Scott, Marny, Ryan, Adam, Tracy, Krista, Jessica, John, Rocky; 8 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Grover & Annie Chatterton; loving husband Newell Turner; brother Grover (Bud) Chatterton; sister Irene Yarger; daughter Linda Stanton. Funeral services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South Fourth Ave. in Pocatello at 2:30 pm Saturday November 23rd. A viewing is scheduled for Friday November 22nd from 6-8 pm at the same location with a 2nd viewing before services Nov. 23rd from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. Graveside services will follow the Funeral at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. I lite dinner will be served at the LDS church on the corner of Hawthorn and Quinn in Pocatello after the service concludes.
