Sherry Bell

September 9, 1936 — July 20, 2012

Sharell Dean Bell was reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20, 2012.

Sharell Dean began her life in Franklin, Idaho on September 9, 1936 when she was born to Owen A. and Eveline Morgan Balls. She was the second child born and six more children would follow. When she was very young her father and mother purchased an eighty-acre farm in Dayton, Idaho where she was raised. Growing up on the farm she learned a very strong work ethic. Getting up at 4 am to thin beets and then work to clean the house. She once said if she could get her work at home done she could go to other farms and work for money. This is how she could earn enough money to purchase school clothes in the fall. Also, it was here she found her first love playing the piano a talent that would be shared by many people throughout her life. She attended West Side schools and in high school participated in many school activities. After graduation she began her adulthood.

Sharell Dean began her adulthood in Salt Lake City working. This was when she married Morris Helmandollar their marriage lasted for thirty years. In this marriage there were three children born Kenneth, Brett and Melanie. It was after the children were born they decided to build a house in Inkom, Idaho. She has remained living in the house on Helmandollar Drive every since.

In Inkom she used the strong work ethic she learned as a child and spent twenty-eight years as the city clerk for the City of Inkom. She was active in the Association of Idaho Cities and various other city government activities.

Along, with her job she also taught piano lessons. Her love for playing the piano showed in the care and time she would spend with each and every student. She believed if people shared the love of music their lives would be enriched.

Sharell Dean's talent for playing the piano was shared every Sunday for many years when she played the piano and organ at the LDS church in Inkom. She served the church in many capacities. She had a very strong testimony of her religion and believed it would lead to her salvation.

Later in her life she married Keith F. Bell. Soon after their marriage she retired from the City of Inkom. They began to travel and enjoy each other's company. Sharell Dean and Keith enjoyed fishing together. They also enjoyed spending the winter together in St. George. Every fall they would spend time in Island Park gathering firewood to sell. They worked very hard taking care of the yard at the house in Inkom. Keith mowed and Sharell Dean weeded and planted the flowers. Everyone revered the flower garden in the front yard.

In the end, Sharell Dean, mother, grandmother great grandmother and wife lived her life to the fullest. She gardened; scrap booked, made quilts, rode bikes, and walked every morning with her friends. She will be missed by all who was touched by her love and caring manner.

She is preceded in death by both parents and a son Kenneth. She has left behind her husband Keith, son Brett (Kathy) Helmandollar, daughter Melanie (Scott) Christensen, Keith's son Steve (Janet) Bell, Keith's daughter Debbie (Dave) Rice five granddaughters, five grandsons, nine great grandchildren and four brothers and three sisters.
