Sherri Lynn Horsley

Sherri Lynn Horsley, 45, lost her courageous four-year battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2015.

Sherri was born October 11, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Jim and Karen Johnston. She moved to Pocatello when she was one year old and went to school at Lewis and Clark Elementary, Alameda Jr High, and Pocatello High School. She graduated in the class of 1988, was active in Girls Council and set a state record in track.

She served an LDS mission in Fukuoka, Japan. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University and a Master's Degree from Idaho State University. She met John Daniel Horsley while living in Orem, Utah, and they were married in the Logan Utah LDS Temple April 10, 1998. They had two sons, Nathan and David.

Sherri had many employment opportunities in Graphic Design and Counseling and worked as a professional counselor. She and John owned businesses in the Salt Lake area and locally were the owners of Geraldine's Bakery.

Sherri was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of Jesus Christ. She was currently serving as her ward Relief Society President, a calling which she loved deeply. Sherri's life was one of service. She did kind things for others and was concerned for the well-being of those around her. Her pride and joy were her husband and her sons. She was an avid reader of worthwhile books and a student of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her boundless energy led to many exciting adventures with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26th at the Highland LDS Stake Center at 2140 Satterfield Drive in Pocatello. Visitation will be held prior to services from 11 am to 12:30 pm and the funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sherri will be buried at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
