Sherri Lee (Tubbs) Traughber, 65, was born on February 24, 1950 to Lois & DeLoi Tubbs. She was raised in Pocatello, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1968. She married Fredric Lance Traughber in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple on November 20, 1970, with whom she has enjoyed almost 45 years of love and friendship. She had two overwhelming loves in her life. First was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and was eager to be reunited with them again. She has been survived by her devoted husband, Lance; son, Daniel & daughter-in-law, Dayna; five sisters, Chris, Sandra, Michelle, Joanne numerous nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and two granddaughters, Emily & Colette; who are the light of her life. For Sherri, family always came first, spending much of her life caring for family members either directly or planning family reunions, activities, and parties designed to bring them together. This even went as far as to attempt to teach her family about her hobbies and interests (painting, singing, sewing, cooking, and arts & crafts), and she was always kind, regardless of the individuals skill (or lack thereof). Her second love was to serve in her church. In particular, she loved being with the children, often commenting that she felt far more comfortable with them than anyone else. She described one of her favorite callings as leading the singing and teaching children primary songs (even when her nylons perpetually attempted to slip off when in front of the group). However, her time working with young women left a profound effect on her. Throughout her life she would refer to them as "her girls," and would want them to know how much she thought of them during the rest of her life. On October 8, 2015 she peacefully left this life following a life-long struggle with diabetes, and an 11-year battle with related debilitating health problems. She and her family wish to express their profound gratitude to all of those who have aided in her care. This was a difficult period of her life but wants the people she loves to know what she learned. Specifically, she learned much about the necessity and nature of trials/suffering and the courage it takes to overcome fear. Most importantly, she developed a stronger testimony of and a closer relationship to, her Savior, Jesus Christ. We miss her greatly, but look forward to seeing her again. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11 am at the LDS Chubbuck 11 th Ward, 4773 Independence Ave. Chubbuck, ID 83202, with a viewing for one hour prior to the service.
