On the morning of February 22, 2014, Sheila Bieker Simmons peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family in Chubbuck, Idaho due to a fierce battle of cancer; which couldn't take her loving spirit, faith, or love for family away from her. Sheila Simmons was 55 at the time of passing. Sheila Bieker Simmons was born to Ralph and Raydella Bieker on January 20, 1959 in Pocatello, ID. Sheila was the youngest of 5 children. Sheila grew up in Pocatello, ID and graduated high school with the Pocatello High School class of 1977. Sheila had her first of three children, Cory James Bieker in 1976, Michelle L Simmons Purkey in 1978, and Steve R Simmons in 1979. Sheila was married to Frank (Toby) Simmons on April 1 1978; this was the start of their journey through life together with their children and family by her side. Sheila worked for Buttrey's Grocery Store until it shut down in 1987. This didn't bring Sheila down but opened her to a whole new world of opportunities. Sheila always looked at life as a challenge while staying positive and letting our Lord guide her path forward. When Buttrey's closed down, Sheila jumped at the opportunity to attend College at Idaho State University which allowed her to continue her education. In time, Sheila graduated from Idaho State University in 1989 with an Associate of Information Technology and Data Processing and became the first of her immediate family to graduate college. After college, Sheila was afforded several opportunities within Pocatello, ID. Sheila began working for the FBI in the afternoons and Bannock Regional Medical Center in the evenings until she decided that the hospital was the right choice to continue working. Sheila continued loyally working for the hospital as a Sr. Analyst Engineer for several years where she met many friends. Sheila was then granted an opportunity about 20 years later to progress her career. Sheila was offered a position with Care Fusion to become an Integration Engineer, where she stayed until her battle with cancer began and ended. Sheila and Frank Simmons renewed their marriage on October 13, 2001 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple where they sealed themselves together so they can continue their loving journey together with their family. Sheila had a love for life and family and she often molded the two together. Sheila knew the value of hard work, but opted for her opportunities to be with her family. Sheila wouldn't let life bring her down and she often taught her family the truest blessings, which is a loving family tied together for all eternity. Sheila had four beautiful grandchildren that she loved and adored, and was very saddened by the shortness of time with them. Sheila Simmons was a remarkable person with much love for her family and friends. Sheila enjoyed getting out with her family whenever time allowed for camping and ATV adventures. She also loved our family gatherings and activities that we so often met for during the year. For her refined side, Sheila would take time to oil paint with her Aunt, Grace Garvin and Sister Kathy King. This was one of her most enjoyable past times. Sheila was a woman so filled with love and dedication for all who knew her and she had a pure kindness for all. Sheila is survived by her husband: Frank Simmons of Chubbuck, ID, her three children: Cory Bieker of Pocatello, ID, Michelle Simmons Purkey (Josh) of Twin Falls, ID, Steve Simmons (Ann) of Tooele, UT; her Grandchildren: Abby, Brynlee, River, and Gavin. Sheila is also survived by her loving siblings: Janice Bieker Yarghbrough (Mike) of Pocatello, ID, Kathy Bieker King of Pocatello, ID, Rita Bieker Stucki (Max) of Concord, NC, and Ralph Mike Bieker (Debbie) of Ogden, UT; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children. Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Raydella Bieker, brother in-law Eugene King, sister in-law Maureen Simmons Wickham, and her nephew Brandon Paulsen. Sheila was a very special and amazing woman whom all loved dearly, and she will be forever remembered and missed.
