Shayla Deanne Hellickson

March 28, 1969 — March 30, 2023

Shayla Deanne Hellickson, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away in her home March 30th 2023. She was born March 28th 1969 to Glenna and Edward Hellickson of Aberdeen Idaho. Shayla was a very loving and compassionate person who adored being a mother to her 4 children, 2 step-children, and grandmother to her 16 grandchildren. Shayla recently found out that she had an 11th grandbaby (a new granddaughter) on the way, this news brought so much joy to her at the end of her life and she was excited to let everyone know that she had another grandbaby coming in September.


Shayla grew up in American Falls with her older sister Katrina Hellickson, where they attended American Falls High School and made many loving friends and cherished memories.The Hellickson family spent every summer out camping and fishing all along the Snake River. Shayla continued this tradition when she got older and had a family of her own. Shayla lived in Pocatello ID for most of her life where she got married to her first husband David Shook and became a mother in 1988 to Joshua, they were married for just a year before divorcing then Shayla met and married Randy Phillips and had 3 children with him, Casey Phillips, Randy Phillips, Kayla Phillips and Randy brought Christopher and Jennifer Phillips into her life. They were married for 22 years before divorcing, though divorced they stayed very close friends and were always there for their children and each other.


Shayla Deanne Hellickson lives on through her sister Katrina Evans, her 4 children Joshua, Casey, Randy and Kayla, her 11 grandchildren, her 3 daughter in laws Amber, Felicia and Shelby, her son in law Angel, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and many amazing friends who all loved her dearly. Shayla was preceded in death by her parents Glenna and Edward Hellickson, her grandmothers Doris Blalock, Orzillia Hellickson and Willie Viola (Billie), her grandfathers Lavon Jenkins and Ronald Hellickson.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2 pm at Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID.


We love you momma, until we meet again, rest in peace and fly high with the angels until we are able to soar together.
