Our Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Sharon Illona Aiken Morse, 78, returned home to her Heavenly Father on November, 24, 2021 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Sharon was born July 8, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to loving parents Elmer Butler and Minerva Anne Bagley. She graduated from Olympus High School (Salt Lake City, Utah) in 1961 and in 1974 earned her Associates Degree in Small Business Management while attending Utah Technical College.
Sharon married Eldon Earl Aiken on December 16, 1961. During their years together, 6 children were born, one passing within a day. In 1977 she applied her knowledge and college education to manage Eldon’s barbershop and salon. They were later divorced.
As her life moved forward Sharon met and married Richard Jay Morse March 21, 1992 in Salt Lake City, and soon after moved to Pocatello, Idaho, adding more family to love. Sharon was later sealed to Jay in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 22, 2012.
She found joy in her work and in her community while employed with SIECAA, Experience Works, and while serving on the board for the Eastern Idaho Power County Fire District.
Sharon loved and collected hummingbirds, was gifted in the areas of music, sewing and needlework and was also known by her family for her homemade butterflake rolls, crab salad, and her biscuits with sausage gravy.
Sharon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved her Bannock Creek Ward and her “temple buddies”. In recent years she could be found happily and busily gathering and compiling her family history. She also enjoyed traveling about, attending the temple with her friends, family, and with her sister, Terry, whom Sharon had searched for, dearly loved, and was elated to have finally found. Anyone she came in contact with knew how much the Munk family (her biological family) meant to her.
At the time of her passing, Sharon had 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Nadine(Shaun) Frandsen, of Salt Lake City, Utah, SharAnne(Bill Norman) Gallegos of Pocatello, Idaho, Eileen Erhart of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gene(Mandy) Aiken of Chubbuck, Idaho, and Michael(Shellene) Aiken of American Falls, Idaho and her sister, Terry Munk Rees. Also Jay’s children: Misty Morse of Tonasket, Washington, Shontell Mecham Morse of Pocatello, Idaho, Richard Morse Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Rachael(Chad) Snow of Peoria, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jay Morse, daughter, Elaine Lynette Aiken, granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Gallegos, great-grandson, Landon Trey Gifford, her parents Elmer Butler and Minerva Anne Bagley, her biological parents Robert Ernest Munk and Norma Lynn Thompson, her brother E. Lynn Butler, and son-in-law, Rick Erhart.
