Shantay Lafaye Henson

September 25, 1989 — October 28, 2010

POCATELLO " Shantay LaFaye Henson, 21 was taken back to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, following an automobile accident near Bliss, October 28, 2010.

Shantay was born September 25, 1989 at Bannock Memorial Hospital to Douglas Neal and Lisa LaFaye (Tonks) Henson. She attended Pocatello schools through her sophomore year at Highland, when she transferred to Teton High School in Driggs where she graduated. Following high school, she attended one year at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Shantay was currently employed at Developmental Options and Chili's Restaurant. She enjoyed her involvement and the opportunities she gained.
Shantay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved music, attending concerts and plays, going to movies and her friends.

She was a violin player and participated with the orchestra. She loved to shop, cook, and stayed active in volleyball, softball (she was the top pitcher at Teton High School), snowboarding, and waterskiing. She also enjoyed traveling and had memorable trips to California, Florida, Mexico, Hawaii, and was particularly fond of the American Heritage Tour she was able to experience. She was always happy and cheerful; and those that knew her will dearly miss that influence in their lives.

Shantay is survived by her father, Doug (Vonda) Henson, Pocatello; mother, Lisa (Bob) Foster, Driggs; siblings, Shaun Henson, Driggs; Dylan Foster, Driggs; Grace Henson, Pocatello; Taisha Stratten Foster, Driggs; Josh Summers, Pocatello; grandparents, Stan and Marilyn Henson, Pocatello; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shantay was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary Stratten, and Kent Tonks.
