Shane Yarger

Shane Roy Yarger passed away peacefully in his sleep on Christmas eve morning, at the age of 56. Shane was born in Pocatello on July 25, 1957 to Dale E. and Irene Chatterton Yarger. He was the youngest of four brothers with one younger sister. Shane loved his family more than anything in the world. He was a loving father and an excellent grandpa. He was always willing to lend a hand. He helped others even if it meant he went without. His heart was bigger than anyone could imagine. He gave freely without regards to religion, race, or relation. Shane graduated from Pocatello High School in 1975. He attended Idaho State University for welding which he did for a year before getting hired at the railroad. Shane was proud to support his family working as a conductor on the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired from the railroad due to disability. He strived to aid others still employed at the railroad for a great time after that as an agent of the Crow Law firm. Shane was married to Connie June Farnes on June 17, 1976. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They had three children and seven grandchildren together. Shane was preceeded in death by his parents and grandson Joshua Alan Winters. He is survived by his children Cara (Christopher) Winters of Idaho Falls, Jason Yarger, Lisa (Chris) Burbank. His grandchildren Zachariah, Alexander, and Grace Winters and Cheyenne, Sierra, and Natalie Burbank. Also, his siblings Rex (Verna) Yarger of Brigham City, UT , Eric (Beverly) Yarger of Rigby, ID, Clint (Debbie) Yarger of Fort Worth, TX, and Colleen (Dell) Judkins of Pocatello, ID and his wife, Connie Yarger of Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 and meet one hour prior to the services.
