Scott Tyler Young, 33, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2014 after a long valiant battle with cancer. Scott was born December 22, 1980 in Pocatello Idaho. He attended schools at Greenacres, Lewis & Clark, Alameda Jr. High, and he graduated from Highland High School in 1999. He also attended college at ISU. Scott loved all sports and truly enjoyed playing & coaching soccer, golf, basketball, & disk golf among other things. He also loved to camp and fish. He loved working in the yard and working with his hands. He was a carpenter by trade and was last employed with Whisper Creek Log Homes, but was laid off when they closed. He enjoyed the people he worked with throughout his career, and they all loved and respected him. One of Scott's favorite things to do was to Barbeque and have family and friends over for his specialty ribs, chicken, hamburgers, etc. His nieces and nephew loved his food, and Scott loved being with his nieces, Madison, Kylie, Aubrey and his nephew, Ian! They will really miss him and all the family holidays we celebrated: hiding Easter eggs, carving pumpkins that Grama grew, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas dinners and opening presents with the entire family there! Fun times for everyone! Scott also enjoyed Sunday dinners at his mom's. Scott also loved his Beagles, Philly and Odie, who will surely miss their dad a lot! Scott was always happy, upbeat & positive. When he was life flighted to Idaho Falls and later diagnosed with Astrocytoma (Brain Tumor cancer), the doctor told him he only had 3 to 6 months to live. He never gave up or stopped fighting the cancer and survived for over 3 years. Every day was a blessing for him and the family. Scott is survived by his father, Chris, and mother, Debbie (Boyce), his niece Madison, sister-in law, Melissa and her 3 beautiful children, Kylie, Ian, and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his older brothers, Shad and Cory. Scott's wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes buried at Restlawn Cemetery by his brothers. There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 9,2014 at 3:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. 208-233-1500. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.Colonial-funeralhome.com. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Scott's name to the American Cancer Society for research of Brain Cancer. Scott and family are very grateful for the care and treatment he received at the Huntsman Cancer Center and the Portneuf Cancer Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Pocatello Care & Rehab for making his short stay there comfortable. A huge thank you to all Alliance Hospice personnel who never stopped caring and taking such good and loving care of our son and the other family members needs. He loved you all so much! Go in peace son and know that we will see you again.
