Scott James Branson

November 19, 1951 — December 16, 2012

Scott James Branson, 61, passed away at his home on December 16, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born on November 19, 1951 at Price, Utah to James B. and Verna Lou Branson. He lived in Hiawatha, Utah until he was 3 and then moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Scott attended Highland High School and Idaho State University graduating from the Police Academy (POST) in 1980. He went to work for the State Police from 1980 to 1982 then worked for the Pocatello Police Department until 2005. He then became the driver's license skill tester for the State of Idaho from 2000-2012. He also was a bus driver for the Pocatello School District #25.

On July 17, 1976, Scott married Cindy Davis in the Idaho Falls Temple. Shortly after being married, they moved to Ketchikan, Alaska where Scott worked as a freight manager for Tyee Airlines where he earned his seaplane rating. He also had his commercial pilot license. Scott enjoyed flying and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He loved watching BYU Football, motorcycles, traveling and especially his family. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, High Counselor, Gospel Doctrine teacher and was a Branch Mission leader in Alaska.

Scott is survived by: his wife, Cindy, a son, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Branson of Inkom, Idaho, a daughter, Lisa (Ryan) Eborn of Chubbuck, Idaho, a sister, Deawn (Mark) Johnson of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and grandchildren, Tanner, Easton, Macey, Carson Branson, Bailey, Kaden, Wyatt, Brooklyn and Kash Eborn and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Verna Lou Branson.
We, Scott's family, would like to thank Dr. Thomas Davis and staff, everyone at Encompass Home Health and Hospice, the staff at Portneuf Medical Center for all of their professionalism and compassionate care given to Scott during his illness and to all of our wonderful family and friends who have blessed our lives with their love and caring.
