Sandra Lee Sievers, 74, passed away unexpectedly from a brief illness on Friday, February 8, 2019 at a local hospital.
Sandy was born December 3, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho, the oldest of three children born to Robert M. and Helen F. (Thomson) Nelson. Her family moved frequently because her father was in the Air Force. She attended Ricks College and then went to Weber State University to become a Registered Nurse.
Sandy married David F. Sievers in Pocatello, Idaho. They were the proud parents of one daughter, Michelle; and were later divorced.
Sandy worked at the University of Utah on the I.V. team, and then in the NICU to care for the infants that needed extra medical attention. She later obtained her CDL at Boise State University to drive long-haul semi-trucks. She was able to log many miles, and see much of the country in the nearly ten years she drove trucks.
Sandy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved traveling, reading, doing cross-stitch, and history. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was caring for her family, whether it be babysitting, spending time with them and being involved in what they were doing.
Sandy "Double G" is survived and will be dearly missed by her family: daughter, Shelly (Jeff) Andrews, of Inkom, ID; grandchildren, Emma "Bo Bemma" (Rich) Lindsey, of Idaho Falls, ID, Rodney "Shae Bud" (Laura Krahe) Andrews, of Charlotte, NC; , Jeffery "Love Bug" Andrews, of Pocatello, ID; Eric "Ricky Tiky" Andrews of Pocatello ID; great-grandchildren, Tucker Lindsey and Jeffery Cash of Idaho Falls, ID; a brother, Steve (Kate) Nelson, of Bountiful, UT; and a sister, Stephanie (Craig) Miller, of West Valley City, UT.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen Nelson, and her grandparents, Earl and Emma Thomson.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held in Sandy's honor at 4:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road.
