Samuel Clark

Samual David Clark Sr. passed away October 25, 2016.

Sam was born April 23, 1939 in Pocatello, ID to Thomas Henry & Yula Marie Clark. He was the 8th of 9 children. Sam married Marna L. Wilson on June 21, 1963 in Pocatello, ID. They were married 50 years before Marna passed away March 26, 2014.

Sam and Marna were blessed with three children: Samual David Clark Jr and his wife Camille, T.J. Clark and his wife Stacie, Kimberly Dawn Cooper, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Sam was a member of the LDS church. He also served in the United States Navy from 1957-1961 including time spent on the Navy ship USS Elkhorn and USS Paricutin. He belonged to the National Guard prior to his Navy enlistment. Sam was a member of the Alameda Police Department. He attended Idaho State University to become an Instrumentation Electrician, which began his 37 year career with FMC. Sam also spent a couple years as the owner of Sammy's Café.

Sam recently received his 31 year sobriety chip from AA. Sam's AA family was a big part of his life. He mentored many AA members and was quick to share his stories in the hopes they would help other AA members. Sam had many hobbies. He enjoyed camping, hunting and gardening. He bowled for close to 50 years with the same bowling team, he considered these teammates and wives as family. Most of all he truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services for Sam will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the LDS Church on the corner of Quinn and Hawthorne Roads. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow services at Mountain View Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
