Sammuel Elton Jacobs

S.E.(Sam)Jacobs 55, passed away Wednesday, July 28,2010. On June 28th, Sam was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer with the cancer metastasizing rapidly he fought a courageous battle however he succumbed to the disease with his wife and daughter by his side.

Born in Pocatello on January 15, 1955 to Patrick Richard and Barbara Lee Jacobs. In his younger years his family lived between California and Idaho. Sam graduated from Pocatello High School in 1973. In September 1974 he hired on at the Union Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman and became a Conductor working until the time of his death.

In 1976 he met Judy Lee Webb, they dated for 3 years and were married April 7, 1979. On November 23, 1981, Sam and Judy welcome their only child Annie Marie Jacobs. Sam loved his family and was a constant care give. In keeping with the memory of his Grandfathers' tradition an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed Elk hunting and Steel Head fishing returning as often as he possibly could to the North Fork of the Salmon River. A competitor for sure, Sam was a member of the Rocky Mountain Tractor Puller's Association. Tractor Pulling was an important part of his life as he competed in events throughout the region. He loved his farm, building and maintaining it for his family was a priority he never tired of. He took many trips to American Falls reservoir and Lake Havasu boating with his family. But his true passion was traveling with and supporting Annie as she competes in Rodeos throughout Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy, daughter Annie and Jesse James. His 3 brothers Dan Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, Rick Jacobs, 2 sisters Vikki Rock, Lindsey Brooks, Father-in-law Jack Webb, Mother- in-law Ila Webb, 3 brother-in-law John Webb, Kenny Webb and Todd Webb and several nephews and nieces. He was preceding in death by his Father and Mother, Grandfather and Grandmother Lindsey and Grandfather and Grandmother Jacobs and several Uncles and Aunts.

Sam is loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
