It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Ryan, 50, of Pocatello, Idaho. He was welcomed home into the arms of his mother Peggy after he passed away unexpectedly.
Ryan was born to Clint and Peggy Bohney on July 23, 1972, in Boise and grew up in Pocatello. He was a blessing to his family and his parents fondly remember him as an easy-going child. This carefree attitude continued into adulthood; he was quiet with a quick wit and a memorable smirk. His friends all enjoyed his rad sense of humor.
One of Clint's favorite memories of Ryan was when they borrowed a neighbor’s bike to teach him how to ride. He immediately picked it up and rode it across the grass straight into a wooden fence where he tipped over. It was the start of a lifelong passion for him.
Into adolescence he picked up freestyle biking where he rode in parades. His parents even had to force him to drive his car because he would have rather been on his bike. Ryan additionally had a love for lowrider trucks, show cars, and customizing his many vehicles.
Ryan met the love of his life Candy in 1992, and three months into dating knew he had to lock her down. Nine months later, they were married. They quickly started a family and in February of 1994 they welcomed their first daughter Paige followed by Amanda 13 months later, and in 1998 they welcomed their final daughter Addison. Ryan was an incredible father; he had an abundance of patience and a soft spot for his girls.
It wasn't until 2015 that he reached peak happiness and found his true calling in life - being a Papa. Ryan had five grandchildren and one more on the way that he was very excited to meet. They brought a new spark to his life, and he loved running around and playing with them whenever he could.
He loved to spend time with his wife, daughters, and grandkids playing disc golf, mini golf, and going bowling. He also enjoyed snowboarding, fishing with his dad and youngest daughter, heavy metal music, going to car shows, attending concerts with his wife, and was a huge Seattle Seahawks fan.
Ryan is survived by his wife Candy; daughters Paige (Josh) Bohney, Amanda (Mitch) Lange, and Addison (Kolton) Johnson; grandchildren Nolan, Everly, Parker, Walker, and Harper; father Clint (Melynda) Bohney; father-in-law Larry Whitfield; siblings Tiffani (Bryon) Cottrell, Eric (Cleo) Bohney, Will (Sara) Bohney; and many nieces and nephews.
Ryan is preceded in death by his mother Peggy and grandparents John and Arvella Bohney.
The loss of Ryan leaves a hole in our family that can’t be filled. Anyone that was lucky enough to have the opportunity to know him knew what a kind heart he had. In honor of him, we ask that you spend time with your loved ones because you never know when it will be your last chance. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the “Tribute Wall” tab above.
