Ruth Olsen, 87, peacefully returned to her heavenly home and the loving arms of her husband Ralph Olsen on June 8th, 2018 in Hilliard, Nausau, FL.
Ruth Ormond Olsen was born on December 9, 1930 to Frances C. and Delia Catherin Curtis Ormond. She had one brother and six sisters and was the baby of the family. She resided in North Carolina, California and Pocatello.
Ruth graduated from Pocatello High School, class of 1949, and attended Idaho State University where she graduated with her teaching degree. She taught for thirty-two years at Lewis and Clark as a second and third grade teacher.
Ruth was married to Duane Clark, and later to Ralph Olsen. Ruth was very talented as an oil and tole painter, seamstress, quilter and crafter; she was always working on her computer or doing a project on her embroidery machine. She shared her many talents with others teaching many relief society classes for her church. Also, she was a great cook and baker. Her desserts, soups, and homemade rolls were the best, especially with some of her homemade jam. When her spouse Ralph Olsen passed away she went to live with her daughter, Glenda in Jacksonville, FL.
Ruth is survived by: her twin sisters, Iris Hansen and Inis Turner. Her children Harriet (Jerry) Lacey, Glenda Brooks, Brent (Debby) Olsen, Blaine (Vicki) Olsen, Susan (Phillip) Knapp, Paul (Tonya) Clark, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by three sons, Philip Clark, Ronall and Gary Olsen, two previous husbands Duane Clark and Ralph Olsen, grandson, Travis Olsen, and great granddaughter, Misty Dawn Olsen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the LDS Chapel on 300 E. Chapel Road in Pocatello, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will follow services on Saturday in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho
