Ruth Helene Watson

October 15, 1938 — May 3, 2023

Ruth Helene Jenkins was born in Pocatello October 15, 1938, to Helen and Roland Jenkins. She grew up in Inkom Idaho and attended Inkom and Marsh Valley Schools. In 1971 Ruth was in the first training class in semiconductor manufacturing for AMI. She worked for AMI for 26 years.


She married Paul Morrison in 1956. They made their home and farmed in the Marsh Valley Area settling in Downey Idaho. She and Paul had 4 children, Shelley, Sheldon, Scott, Steve. Ruth and Paul later divorced. On April 4, 1986, Ruth married the love of her life Paul Watson and gained 5 more children and many grandchildren. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho, tried Jackson hole for a year before moving to a small hobby farm in Lava Hot Springs Idaho. This marriage lasted until Paul’s death in 2008. Ruth moved back to Pocatello in 2010.


Ruth enjoyed gardening, Star Trek, word puzzles, computers, playing the piano, making home repairs and jigsaw puzzles. She was raised in the catholic and Mormon religions and started Buddhism in 2008 and practiced the rest of her life.


Ruth is survived by her children Shelley Page, Sheldon (Wanda) Morrison, Scott (Sharon) Morrison, Steve (Suzie) Morrison; stepchildren Lori Cunningham, Lisa (Alvin) Guthrie, Lynda (Lee) Pierson, Richard Watson, Michael (Jessica) Watson; sister Jeannie (Rex) Priest; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents Helen and Roland Jenkins; husband Paul Watson; brothers Tom Jenkins, Glenn Jenkins and Neil Jenkins; grandson Scott Leland Morrison Jr.


A  open house Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, July 7, 2023, 4841 Mohawk, Pocatello, Idaho 83201. 


In lieu of flowers please donate to the Pocatello animal shelter or the Bannock Humane society.
