Ruth Briscoe (71) passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was born January 22, 1951, in Pocatello, Idaho. She grew up on the family farm and lived there most of her life. She helped with the hay hauling and sugar beet weeding and thinning. She graduated from Highland High School in 1969. She was active in the Pep Club. She graduated from Rick’s College and Idaho State University in Business Administration. She also attended BYU in the MBA program. She worked in various capacities for ISU for 34 years and retired as business manager for the College of Pharmacy.
Ruth was a member of Sweet Adelines and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she taught in various church auxiliaries and served in several leadership roles. Ruth collected Madame Alexander dolls and miniatures (tea sets).
Ruth loved to travel, and her adventures included a Caribbean Cruise and visits to exciting places such as Hawaii, Canada, the Black Hills, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, and the Grand Canyon. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with Vern’s kids and families. She climbed to the top of Table Rock in the Teton Mountains and to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She also floated the Salmon River and experienced white water rafting on the Snake River.
She was kind and generous to all and will be greatly missed.
Ruth Briscoe is survived by her siblings, Vern (Sandra) Briscoe, and Jean Briscoe; niece Angela (Jared) Wilks; nephews Robert (Lori) Briscoe, Ben (Allie) Briscoe, Cory (Leslie) Briscoe, Doug (Candace) Briscoe, Adam (Staci) Briscoe, Andrew Briscoe; and 26 grand nieces and nephews, three of which are married. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Margaret Briscoe.
