Ruth has begun a new adventure. She died, at the age of 85, peacefully and in style, wearing a new dress at her daughters home July 10, 2014. Ruth was born to Edwin and Ellen Keller in Ririe, Idaho. As a child, Ruth had many adventures with her parents and brothers, James, Richard, and Glen. They spent their summers camping in many National Parks. Ruth learned to fly a plane at the age of 14 as a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She graduated from Pocatello High School. Ruth operated Med Lab as the laboratory tech for 40 years in the offices of Drs Sharp, Merkley, Buehler, and Cottle. Ruth was a member and past President of Pocatello Literary Club. She was a Hospice Volunteer and was nominated for National Hospice Volunteer of the Year. She held many offices and callings for the LDS Church and served a mission at the St. Anthony Branch, Pocatello. Ruth enjoyed collecting antique dolls and jewelry making. She was a world traveler. She has kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland, rode camels and explored tombs in Egypt, escaped death on a bus in Israel, rode a horse into the ancient city of Petra (Jordan), walked ancient Mayan ruins in Guatemala, fed wild monkeys on the Rock of Gibraltar, and broke her ankle in the eye of a hurricane in Mexico. Ruth married Edgar Myers. They were later divorced. She is survived by her children: Robert (Billie) Myers, and Kathryn (George) Reay; six grandchildren: Thomas Reay, Ryan (Cristina) Reay, Jason (Desiree) Myers, Jeff (Sheryln) Doyle, Scott (Mindi) Doyle, Kristi Bethke, and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Richard (Vera) Keller; sister in law, Janet Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Edwin and Ellen Keller; baby sister, Mary Ellen; brothers, James (Merle), and Glen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Caldwell Park LDS Ward, 135 S. 7 th , (7th and Lewis St.) Pocatello, ID. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th , Pocatello, ID, 208-233-1500 from 6 8 PM and for 1 hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.
