Russell James Frank Schwulst

Russell James Frank Schwulst, 81, passed away July 26, 2018. Russ was born January 23, 1937 in Richfield, Wisconsin to Ewald Walter and Florence Ethel Schwulst.

Russ graduated high school in Hartford, Wisconsin in 1955. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. During his time in college he met his wife Sondra Simpson of Monroe, Wisconsin; together they have 3 children, Joette, Amy and David.

Russell served in the U.S. Army Engineers Battalion from 1960-1962 as a First Lieutenant stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. After his service Russ worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Northern California and Monte Vista, Colorado. In 1992 Russ and Sondra moved to Soda Springs, Idaho where Russ operated a construction company with his son David called Schwulst Construction.

Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horseback. He was the most loved, kind, loving and generous man who loved his family.

In the fall of 2013, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho where Russell resided until the time of his passing.

Russell is survived by his wife Sondra; his children Joette (Kerry) Pepper, Amy (Brent) Sullivan, and David (Sheila) Schwulst; grandchildren Dr. Kyla (Justin) Ego, Cole Pepper, Kyle (Ashton) Sullivan, Katelyn (Adam) Vankeuren, Kalan (Shae) Sullivan, Chelsea (Cy) Merrill, Kendra (Cade) Graber, Allyson Schwulst; and great-grandchildren Eva Ego, Adalyn Sullivan, Bridger Sullivan, Beau Merrill, Ridge Merrill, Trayson Graber.

No services are scheduled to take place at this time. In 2019, the family will take Russell back to Wisconsin for his burial. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.

Russ will forever be in our minds, our hearts, our souls, never to be forgotten.
