Russell Antone Mickelson

Russell Antone Mickelson passed away on May 24, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.  He was 72 years old. 

Russ was born July 2, 1949 in Preston, Idaho to Franklin Michael and Louise Speirs Mickelson. Along with his brothers and sisters, he was raised on the family farm in Lago, Idaho. Although he was a man of few words, Russ created his fair amount of mischief growing up. He was an avid wrestler and graduated from Grace High School in 1967. 

During his younger years, he developed a love of cars and began his career in the automotive industry.  It was there that he met the love of his life, Julie Aldous Mickelson.  They were married on November 1, 1974 and to this union two children were born, Dusty and Stacie.

In 1988, Russ started working at the Phil Meader Organization as a Toyota technician, and remained with them until his retirement in 2017 at the age of 68.  

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julie; son Dusty Mickelson (Wendy), daughter Stacie Mickelson, grand-daughter Grace Mickelson; six brothers and two sisters, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents. 

Russ had many fond memories of those who came into his life and spoke of them often.  The family would like to thank those who have been supportive during this time as they say goodbye to him

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Wilks Funeral Home beginning at 9:30-10:45 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will then take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
