Ruben DeVon "Don" Miles passed away March 25, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with COPD at the home of his daughter, TerryLynn Leissring, with his loving family by his side. He was born January 25, 1936 to Earl Harvey and Oma Alene Miles in Preston, Idaho. They later moved to Logan, Utah where he continued attending and graduated from Logan High School in 1954. While attending Logan High School he met the love of his life and high school sweet heart, Patricia Marie Neuberger. Upon her graduation from high school they were married in the Logan Temple June 10, 1955 where they were sealed for eternity. They had been together for 65 years. They continued to live in Logan for 2 years and then they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they built their home and lived for 50 years and raised their family. They had 4 beautiful children, TerryLynn, Becky, Larry and Howard, who kept them very busy and on their toes with camping, fishing, boating, and all the sports and school activities their children were involved in. He loved his family very much and would do anything for them. Don continued to be very active in the LDS church for many years and held several positions in the church. Don loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, 4 wheelers. He also really enjoyed playing pool and competing in the sport. Don worked in construction with his dad for many years and then went to work for Sears Roebuck & Co. where he was the warehouse furniture and appliance manager in Salt Lake City, Utah for 30 years. Don retired from Sears, and was retired for 2 years when he became bored with retirement and went to work for Office Max as receiving manager for 3 years. He then went to work in construction with his son, Larry, building houses in Salt Lake City, Utah until he had a severe back injury. After having back surgery he had to finally retire for good. Don was a very proud husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He has 8 beautiful grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was so very proud of all of them. In 2008, due to medical and health problems, Ruben, and his wife, Patricia, moved to Inkom, Idaho to live with their daughter, TerryLynn, son-in- law, David, and granddaughter, Samantha Leissring. There, they were able to have the help they needed with their medical issues and needs and become more active again. Don also became very active with his son-in-law, David. He got involved in snowmobiling, and riding 4 wheelers, building trailers and remodeling campers. He had a blast in everything they did together. Don is survived by his daughter, TerryLynn, and granddaughter, Samantha Leissring; son, Howard Miles all of Inkom, Idaho; daughter, Becky (Ken) Reid of Cottage Grove, Oregon; grandson, Robert Reid of Cottage Grove, Oregon; granddaughter, Danielle (Jason); and great-granddaughter, Eryn Phillips of Cottage Grove, Oregon; son, Larry (Danise) Miles, grandson, Marshall Miles; granddaughter, Autumn Gustafason all of Olympia, Washington; Stephanie (KC) Wells; granddaughter, Lindsie (Adam) Nichols; and granddaughter, Leeanna Miles all of LasVegas, Nevada; one brother, David (Carol) Miles of Salt Lake City, Utah; and special family friend, Bobbie (Paul) Wilson of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Marie Neuberger Miles; parents, Earl Harvey and Oma Alene Miles; his son-in-law, David E Leissring; grandparents; great-grandparents; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation for Ruben will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 1 to 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Graveside services will then follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Inkom Cemetery in Inkom, Idaho. There will be a luncheon at the Rapid Creek Ward Chapel following the graveside services.
