Royal E. Littleford, 80, passed away July 17, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Royal was born on January 6, 1934 to Royal Robert and Margaret Marvilla (Ricks) Littleford in Rigby, Idaho. Royal was the eldest of 7 children. They moved to Pocatello in 1942 when he was 8. Royal met his loving wife, Barbara (Brillhart), when he was 19 and she was just 16. They were married November 20, 1954 and had four sons: Steve, Mike, Rick, and Wesley. For 61 years they walked through life together, facing all lifes joys and heartaches hand-in-hand. Royal started his work life building guns for naval ships and working at various farms. In February 20, 1955 he started his career at Simplot. He worked up to a foreman, mainly working in the ammonia plant. Royal retired in June 1990 and spent much time with his family and many hobbies. Dad enjoyed caring for his roses, tinkering with woodwork, loading shells, beadwork, taking care of the yard, and fishing. His hands were rarely idle. He was a camper and great fisherman. Royal helped his grandchildren and many great-grandchildren catch their first fish. He was much loved by his family, all whom he gave special nicknames. Royal is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons Steve (Amelia) Littleford and Mike (Teresa) Littleford of Pocatello, daughter in law, Cindy Littleford, sisters Darlene Lott, Lila (Dan) Palmer, and Marla Hunter, 12 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Royal is preceded in death by sons Rick and Wesley Littleford, parents Royal Robert and Margaret Marvilla Littleford, brother, Lynn Littleford, and sisters Katherine "Kay" Hill and Ruth Littleford. The family would like to thank Alliance Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided. Per Royals wishes, there will be no formal services.
