Roy M. Mcintosh

November 26, 1932 — December 7, 2016

Roy Marshall McIntosh was born 26 November 1932 in Pueblo, Colorado, the only child of John Stewart McIntosh and Mary Roy Eadie McIntosh, both Scottish immigrants. He was reared in and around Rock Springs, Wyoming where his father worked in the coal mines. His mother died of cancer after his junior year of high school.

After high school, Roy registered in the airman branch of the U.S. Navy where he trained to be an air traffic controller. After four years he was discharged on medical issues. He then went to school at Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana (now Trine University) where he obtained a degree in chemical engineering.

Upon graduating, he took a job at Thiokol near Brigham City, Utah, where he met Carol Lynn Cazier. They were married 19 May 1962 in Afton, Wyoming where Carol Lynn was reared. After a job change to California for a year at Hercules, Roy took a job with J.R. Simplot in Pocatello where he worked for 35 years until retirement.

While living in California, Roy became converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained faithful the rest of his life. He and Carol Lynn were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple soon after. He served in several callings throughout his life, but loved working as ward clerk and executive secretary. He and Carol Lynn eventually served a full-time mission together in the California Roseville Mission as office workers.

After Carol Lynn passed away, Roy married AdaDee Eldridge in October of 2014.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents; 3 step-brothers, John, James, and Marion McIntosh; his wife, Carol Lynn Cazier; and two sons, Daniel Martin and David Marshall McIntosh.
He is survived by his wife AdaDee; sons Jeff and Jerry McIntosh; daughter Erin Hillier; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He passed away of natural causes at home early morning on 7 December, having just had his 84th birthday on Thanksgiving weekend. His family will meet with friends and loved ones on Sunday evening, 11 December from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W.
