Rosemary Fries

May 4, 1949 — September 9, 2021

Rosemary Fries 72 passed away on September 9, 2021 at 1:59 a.m. in her home with her family by her side, after a long and hard battle with Sjogren’s Disease.

Rosemary was born May 4, 1949, in Bannock Memorial Hospital to Richard and Donna May Raymond. She graduated from Pocatello High School 1967 and ISU with her LPN license, practicing nursing for 40+ years. She married her high school sweetheart W. Kay Fries on May 27, 1967. Together, they raised their two daughters Toni (the peace maker) and Kimber (the rebel rouser). During August ’69 Rosemary sent her husband to war (to South Vietnam). She was pregnant at the time and in April along came Kimber a beautiful baby girl. Before Kay got home, Toni thought the baby belonged to her. Rosemary sent a boy off to war and a man came home to her and their family.

Rosemary was very family and community oriented. She took many road trips with her family all over North America. The two most memorable were their trip to Hawaii and to the east coast up highway 101. In her later years, Rosemary became more connected to her Christian faith. She enjoyed getting together with her bible study group, church services and NKA trips.

Throughout her life some of her other interests were running six miles a day around the Mountain View Cemetery, taking bike rides to the 7-11 for Slurpies and Cheetos, allowing the girls to skip school to go asparagus hunting along the canal banks in Declo, ID, enjoying parties at the Dairy Queen with her Snickers Blizzard, hot fudge on a lid and an extra hot cup of coffee, spending time in her garden wearing her red frock, playing board games with the kids, dancing to Neil Dimond songs and taking trips down to Lava Hot springs with her family, and genuinely having a good time. She was and always will be the life of the party.

Rosemary is survived by W. Kay Fries, husband, Pocatello, Idaho, Toni Fries-Allen, daughter, Salt Lake City, UT, Kimber Bowen, daughter, Spokane, WA, Barbra Wagnon, sister, Weiser, ID, and Rikki Spinner, sister, McCammon, ID, as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Richard W. Raymond, father, Donna May Barnette-Raymond, mother, and Dalene Holland, sister
