Ronald Richard Cook, born March 18, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho, passed away at his home on March 12, 2016, surround by his family, only 6 days shy of his 74 birthday.

Ronald was the oldest of 4 children born to Donald and Rose cook. He grew up in the Pocatello area and attended school in Pocatello as well. He later joined the US Army and served for 3 years.

On December 30, 1968 Ronald married his sweetheart Gwenda Naasz. They just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past December.

Ronald had many hobbies including singing country music, rodeos, camping & hunting, Boise State Football, but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Ronald was also a lifelong member at the Faith Lutheran Church in Pocatello.

Ronald worked at various local construction jobs thru Labor Union 155 until his retirement in 2001.

Ronald is survived by his wife Gwenda; children Robert (Kelly) Shaffer, Glen (Sam) Fox, Tia (Boot) Hill, and Jarod Cook; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Diana Still and Phyllis (Bill) Evans; brother Mike Cook; brother-in-law Keith (Bobbie) Naasz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law; brother-in-law; and 2 sister-in-law's.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family under the "Share a Memory" tab on this page.
