Ronald Kirk Rush, 79, returned to his Heavenly Father, on November 10, 2021 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on July 6. 1942 in Preston, Idaho to Kirk and ImoGene (Muck) Rush. They moved a few times until they settled in Moscow, Idaho when Ron was 10 years old. He attended schools in Moscow, graduating from Moscow High School in 1963. He spent one year at Boise Junior College and one year at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.
He married the love of his life, Leola Marchant, in Moscow on May 14, 1971. The marriage was later solemnized on July 3, 1990 in the Logan Temple. They were sealed together as a family.
He loved trains, watching World War I and II movies, watching Music and the Spoken Word, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. He worked at the University of Idaho for 20 years as a custodian in student housing. Then he worked as a custodian for a few years at the Westwood Mall and then worked at the Bannock County courthouse until he retired.
He was a member of the Methodist church, then was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1970. He served in the Elders Quorum presidency and in the cub scouts as Cubmaster. He also belonged to 4H and FFA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Leola Rush, his sons Stephen (Dawnyel) of Idaho Falls, and Andrew (Camille) of Pocatello, and grandsons Cameron, Jayden, Jacob and Kellyn, brothers Dick (Nancy), Mike (Linda), and Wayne (Liz) all of Boise.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Kirk and ImoGene Rush, and son, Nathan James.
There will be a viewing on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
