Roma Nelson Jones Schlehuber, 79, passed away on October 9, 2008 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle from an extended illness. She was born in Pocatello Idaho on October 2, 1929 to Virginia Mae (Nelson) Jones and Valda Raymond Jones. She married the love of her life on June 1, 1947, Robert Laurence Schlehuber, who remained by at her side until she passed. During her short time on earth she enjoyed every minute that God had created for her. Roma loved all things. She especially loved the challenge of trying something new and overcoming that challenge. When Roma was a young teenager she worked at the Orpheum Theater. She married Robert (Bob) in 1947. She worked at the People Store in downtown Pocatello for a number of years. After her children were born, she stayed home with them for several years making a home for the family, she then later returned to work for the City Library, where she worked on the Bookmobile. Her next great challenge was opening her own business, a fabric shop (Stretch Sew) that not only sold fabric but also taught people how to sew. Her greatest enjoyments were: playing with her grandchildren when they were younger, seeing and being around her great grandson. Bowling and golfing with her friends, Traveling to many different places, especially with Bob, and just being with her family. Some of the her treasured pastimes were: Reading a good novel, listening to her favorite music from the mellow tunes of Johnny Mathis to a variety of Broadway musicals, painting a picture from something God had created, knitting the many wonderful afghans which she gave to family and friends, and teaching others to do what she had taught herself to do. She was an accomplished seamstress and also taught others her sewing techniques. She volunteered her time at the Women
