CHUBBUCK " Rodney Ronald Link, of Chubbuck passed away on July 5th at his home with his wife, Lenore by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Rod was born February 18, 1941to Ronald and Evelyn (Meader) Link in Colville, WA. Rod was the 2nd oldest child in a family of eight. Rod grew up and attended school in Chelan and Wenatchee, Washington.

In 1960, Rod married Marilyn Gotshall, together they had 3 children; Dean, Darren, and Rhonda. They were later divorced. Rod worked in the orchard industry repairing and maintaining equipment. He also worked in the lumber yards, ranches and drove truck in the Oregon and Washington area.
Rod moved to Pocatello in 1992 with his daughter and family. He enjoyed the time spent with his grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas, sharing his love for camping and fishing with them. In 1998 he met and married Lenore Shaw. They spent 11 years together.

Rod and Lenore created many lasting memories in their love of travel and camping. Together they traveled to Alaska, where Rod spent many enjoyable hours deep sea fishing for halibut. They made several trips to Oregon and Washington to visit friends and family; and also more deep sea fishing. Rod enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping, and traveling. Rod and Lenore also became Snow Birds, spending many winters in Arizona and Nevada. They were also active members of the “Travelin' Sams of Poky” RV Club. The club named Rod, “Wagon Master”. Rod was a great cook; he loved to cook for family and friends. Rod was also a member of the Elks and American Legion.

Rod was a kind hearted man who will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Lenore Shaw; two sons, Dean (Tenya) Link; Darren (Spunky) Link both of Washington; daughter, Rhonda (Dean) Rieff of Twin Falls; a step daughter, Sandy (Doug) Guidinger of Pocatello; ten grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; five brothers, Larry (Linda) Galloway of AR; Jim (Louise) Eastman; Clifford (Jewel) Coleman; Clinton Coleman; Clayton Coleman, all of Washington; and a sister, Maxine (Charles) Stiles of Washington. Rod was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Link.

Funeral services for Rod will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home.
