Rodney Johnson Sr., 62, was born on August 20, 1945 in Ogden UT to Claris and Velma Johnson. Rodney attended schools in Ogden, Utah and lived in Ogden, UT., Milford, UT., Las Vegas, NV., and Lima, MT. before moving to Pocatello in 1975. Rodney married Linda Harmon on March 19, 1965. Rodney worked as a brake man for Union Pacific Railroad from 1968 to 1996, during this time he also installed floor coverings, owned a candy store and ran Val-Pak coupon Sales, ran his own Charter Boat in Ketchikan, Alaska, and drove long haul truck for 11 years. Rodney was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Rodney has survived by his wife Linda Johnson, Pocatello, his daughter Jan Christensen, Chubbuck, sons Blain (Cheri) Johnson, Pittsburg, CA. and Brian Johnson, Portland, OR., grandsons Chris Hicks, Pocatello, Dakota Christensen, Dalton Christensen, and Chantry Christensen all of Chubbuck, two granddaughters Amanda (John) Moser and Brittney Johnson both of Pocatello, and a step mother Marion Johnson, Idaho Falls. Rodney had 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents Claris and Velma Johnson, brother Gregg Johnson, and grandson Randon Johnson. Graveside Services for Rodney are scheduled for 1 P.M. on Wednesday June 11, 2008 at Mountain View Cemetery. A family gathering will take place before the graveside service for friends and family from 11-12:30 P.M. on Wednesday June 11, 2008 at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 South Fourth Pocatello, Idaho 83201.
