Rodney Allen Fisher, 75, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019. Rodney, son of Allen W. Fisher and Maxine Wood was born March 10, 1944 in Preston, Idaho. Rodney attended school in Preston. He graduated in 1962 and left to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada, Toronto mission. Rodney attended Idaho State University. He met his sweetheart during his final year. He married Susan Elsa Jensen in 1967. They welcomed two sons and a daughter to their family. They lived in Wisconsin, Utah and Idaho, where Rodney labored as a farmer, truck driver and for Union Pacific Railroad. Rodney was an avid horseman. He loved riding in the mountains. He spent many long hours showing new trails to his buddies. He was also active with both Franklin County and Bannock County Search and Rescue. He served as a water rescue and cave rescue specialist. Rodney was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served for over 30 years as a Ward Clerk, among other callings. Rodney is survived by his wife, Susan; one daughter, Rebecca Potter, Nampa, Idaho; two sons, Clane (Michelle), Orofino, Idaho and Dee Fisher, Alamogordo, New Mexico. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as his mother, Maxine Fisher, Logan, Utah; three sisters, Anna Lee Richens, St George, Utah, Helen Rasmussen (Vaughn), Georgetown, Idaho, and Kathy King (Gary) Mesa, Arizona; two brothers, Gene (Joyce) Williams, Herriman, Utah and Bruce (Kathy) Fisher, American Fork, Utah. Rodney will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his family. The Fisher family would like to express their appreciation for the kind service provided by Signature Hospice. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Services will be on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11 am at the LDS church, Old U.S. Hwy 91 North (between Reservation and Ballard Rd.) Pocatello, ID, with a viewing for one hour prior. Interment will follow in the Clifton Cemetery.
