Robert Powers

Roberta Lawrence Armstrong Kelly Powers, 99, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born January 15, 1910 in Robin, Idaho. She was the 8th of 13 children to George Washington Armstrong and Etta Woodson Frances Lawrence Armstrong. The family had recently moved from Richmond, Virginia to the Robin area where she attended school. A highlight of her teenage years was traveling to Virginia with her family for 6 months to their ancestral home. They were a happy close knit family helping each other during the good times and bad. In 1929 she moved to Pocatello where she worked at Pocatello General Hospital. She enjoyed attending dietetic classes with the nurses. She had a quest for knowledge which she continued all her life. In 1932 she married Elmer Joseph Kelly who owned the cattle for Cream Top Dairy. They were blessed with 3 children, Walter, Charles, and Merlene. Elmer passed away in July 1951. Roberta and Elmer were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in the spring of 1957. She then worked for 10 years for Zweigert
