ROBERT WILLIAM LUNDSTROM 1931-2012 Robert William Lundstrom, 80 of Pocatello, passed away peacefully on Saturday, 5 May 2012. He was living at home with his daughter and son-in-law on Park Avenue. His family was near him when he passed. Robert "Bob" He was born in Virginia Idaho on June 21, 1931 to his father Alvin Lundstrom and his mother Gladys Lundstrom. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up in Virginia Idaho and later in Pocatello with his three younger siblings; Arnold, Joan and Sharon. Bob completed the 8th grade in Pocatello Idaho and began to help the family. He joined the U.S. Navy in July 1948 was discharged in July 1952. He then joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1954 and served until January 1960. It is not clear when, but he again joined the U.S. Navy and was finally honorably discharged from the armed services on January 24, 1973. During his enrollment in the armed services he earned his High School equivalency certificate on January 2, 1958 from the United States Armed Forces Institute in Madison Wisconsin. He was commended with a certificate of honor from the Pocatello American Legion on June 26, 1950 for his involvement in the Korean conflict on June 26, 1950 following an unprovoked attack by communists. After his discharge from the military he worked in construction as a concrete finisher. Bob liked to spend his free time visiting his friends at the gun shop and bowling alley and he liked to gamble at Casino in Fort Hall. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Tonya (Gary) Dillier of Pocatello, two grandsons Robert Aaron and Justin Ray Neff and his wife Mary. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday May 10th 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon Idaho.
