Robert Leroy Dye was born February 24, 1960 to Therral & Marlene (Twitchell) Dye, in Pocatello, Idaho. He joined sister Joanne, and later they welcomed Roger, Ronald and Jolene into the family.
In high school Robert started going by Bob, much to the dismay of his mother. She would always say " If I wanted you to be called Bob, I would have named you that." He went by Bob for the rest of his life.
Bob married Marcie Hancock in April 1982, from their union came three children: Mari Irene, Bobbi Lynn & Bryan Robert. Bob and Marcie later divorced in January 1988.
Bob later met Tammy Shaffer, they married in January 1990, they later adopted Destrianna Sue. Bob and Tammy also divorced, in June 2014.
Bob enjoyed hobbies such as stock car racing, collecting eagles and NASCAR memorbilia, and enjoying the outdoors when he could. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he was active in the LDS church holding many callings throughout his life.
Bob worked in many fields, he worked for the City of Pocatello, Pocatello/Chubbuck School district as a bus driver, he drove trucks a lot, and owned and operated his small recycling business.
Bob is preceded in death by; his mother, Marlene, his younger brother Roger, grandchildren, Jacob, Riley, Danni, & Jayden. Maternal grandparents; Maurice George Twtichell & Vada Mangum Twitchell Merrill. Paternal grandparents; Robert Ernest Dye & Mary Johnson Dye.
He is also preceded in death by Levi Shaffer, son that he was sealed to in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Bob is survived by; his father, Therral Dye of Boise, Idaho. Sisters, Joanne Murray (Sheri Shaw) of Pocatello, Idaho, & Jolene (John) Schiers of Boise, Idaho. Brother; Ronald Dye of Pocatello, Idaho.
He is also survived by his children; Mari (Josh) Lowe of Pocatello, Idaho, Bobbi (John) Matthews of Mesquite, Nevada, Bryan (Breanna) Dye of Shelley, Idaho & Destrianna Brewer of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jaron, Lena, Ryland, Maddie, Kiara, Taesyn & Taysom.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, March 5, 2021 at Wilks funeral home. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 4, 2021 and a hour prior to the funeral service both at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.
