Robert L. Lost Bob Miller

November 2, 1946 — November 16, 2010

Today we lost a husband, father, brother and friend. Robert Leroy Miller, 64, of Pocatello passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease on November 16, 2010 in Pocatello surrounded by family.
Bob was born November 2, 1946 in San Diego, CA to Juanita and Wilmer Miller. Bob attended schools in California, Wyoming, and Idaho. He graduated from Highland High School in 1964.
Bob married Narlene Goodwin on May 6, 1966. Narlene brought two children to the marriage, Terry and Judy Goodwin. Together they had a daughter, Nanci Marie Miller.
From a young age, Bob worked with his father in the painting business. He went on to expanding his knowledge and skills of the painting field from there, working with various contractors.
Bob dedicated his life to his family. He loved outdoor recreations and was always working on race cars, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles and 4-wheelers. Bob always had someone at his shop asking questions or needing help with their toys. His greatest passions in life were his snowmobiles and race cars. Bob rode snowmobiles from the time he was able to purchase his first sled, until ALS took the use of his arms. Bob's love of boats, snowmobiles, and race cars led him to open a repair shop, Chubbuck Marin and Sports in the early 80's. He later started Bob's Painting and Sandblasting where he remained at the helm until 2008.
Outdoor activities occupied much of his time throughout his life. Snowmobile and camping trips all around the state were the primary form of vacation that the family enjoyed over the years. Bob loved to snowmobile and was dedicated to preserving and promoting outdoor recreation. He was a member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition, Gate City Motorcycle Association, and was a founding member of the Pocatello Pathfinders Snowmobile Club.
Bob is survived by his wife, Narlene Miller; daughters, Judy Goodwin and Nanci (John) Colombo of Pocatello; sisters, Pat; Nancy (Mike) of California; Sharron of Boise; and a brother, Dick (Joyce) of Sun Valley; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Nick, Ashley, Amanda, Corey and Jeffery; and five great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Brennan, Alize, Naomi, and Madison.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Terry Goodwin.
Please share a memory, story, or photo you have of Bob for his family to cherish.
