On the 7th of August 1927, a baby boy was born to Harold Osborn Burt and Violet Crystal McMahan Burt in Fruitvale, ID. They called him Bob. When Bob was 4 months old, his parents moved to a place called Earl McMahan’s Ranch in Fruitvale, ID. He started hunting with his father at the age of 7. He killed his first deer at 14 and became our hero for being the best hunter and fisherman in the entire world. He loved the outdoors.

At 17 Bob and his cousin Phil worked on the railroad in Oregon. They came to Pocatello and got a job at the freight depot. This time is when he met his gal, Nancy Jean Dixon. At the age of 18, Bob was drafted into the Army Air Corps during WWII. The war ended, and he came home at the age of 19. He married his sweetheart, Nancy Jean Dixon, on March 11, 1947, in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. He and Nancy had been married for 76 years in March of this year. Bob had 2 brothers; David and Jim Burt, and 4 sisters; Naomi, Velma, Irma, and Mary Anna.

Our Dad was a member in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many callings, and faithfully served each one to the best of his ability. He was a member of the 70’s Presidency, and a Stake missionary for 5 years. He was also a Branch President in Northport, Washington.
