Robert Earl "Bob" Edwards passed away peacefully at his home on December 4, 2017.
Bob was born June 8, 1937 in Pocatello, ID to Dono and Chloe Thornton Edwards. He spent much of his younger years in Osgood, ID, graduating from Davis High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his youth he enjoyed wresting, baseball, track, and developed a love of rodeo and bronc riding. He spent one year in college on a baseball scholarship before being drafted into the Army, where he spent two years on active duty and four additional years in the Reserve.
After the military Bob trained in auto mechanics and spent many years at Highland High School as an instructor as was known as "Auto Bob". It was while working as an instructor at Idaho State University that he met his wife, Marilyn. They were married in 1975 and together they have 9 children, 33 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Some of his favorite service was with his wife Marilyn as missionaries in the LDS Social Services program, and temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Bob loved his wife and family and was deeply devoted to his faith. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Julie Brandt (Ben), Scott Hardy (Julie), Lynette Jones (Mark), Jayson Edwards, Tawnya Hall (Joran), Bob Jensen (Becky), Melodie Albertson, Layne Jensen (Anne), and Amy Johnson (Ryan).
Funeral services for Bob will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Victory LDS Chapel, 4600 Victory Avenue, Chubbuck, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, December 8th, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, and one hour prior to the services at the church. His interment will follow the services at the Norton Cemetery, in McCammon, Idaho.
