Robert A. "Sam" Bass

Robert Allen Bass, also known as Sam, was born in a naval hospital in Massachusetts on March 20, 1945. He grew up in Hanover, Massachusetts and graduated from Hanover High in 1964.

Sam joined the Army in October of 1964. When he got out of the army in 1968, he got a job working for Kettinburg Marina in San Diego, California. He lived and worked in San Diego until he retired and moved to Idaho in 2010.

Sam enjoyed building small scale train sets. He also enjoyed spending time with his numerous nieces and nephews.

He passed away June 29, 2016.

Sam is survived by his brother, Richard Bass, (Jenny) of Radcliff, Kentucky; his brother, Randall Bass, of Tacoma, Washington; his brother, Russell Bass, (Karen) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sister, Jennie Blackadar, (Harry) of Hemet, California; and his sister, Joyce Williams, (Tim) of Corinth, Texas.

Sam is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Robins Bass, and his father, Robert E. Bass.

A memorial service will be held for Sam at 11:00am on July 9, 2016 at the Idaho State Veterans Home, 1957 Alvin Ricken Drive, Pocatello, Idaho. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family under the "Share a Memory" tab on this page.
