Richard Lee Lopez, 63, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home in Pocatello. He was born in Charleston, Mississippi on August 12, 1955. He moved to Lubbock, Texas for a few years then came to Idaho in 1972. He lived in Burley until he met and married Guadalupe Garcia on December 5, 1975. They moved to Pocatello in 1977 and made their home there. Richard worked at various jobs until he landed a permanent job at JR Simplot Fertilizer Plant in 1978 until August 2012; when he retired due to chronic pancreatitis. He was involved in a few organizations including, Portneuf Muzzleloaders, he was first President of Southern Idaho Rangers, Vaquero Cowboys Action Shooting Club Member of Gate City Sport Shooting Range and PVSC Gate City Soccer League. He did various jobs donating his time especially to coaching kids of all ages. Richard loved to do some gun reloading, fishing, walking, hunting, shooting, tending to his roses; which he cherished, and his garden during the summer. Above all, spending time with his wife, children and grandkids was most precious to him.
