Richard Henry Elkins left our lives too soon on April 15, 2023. He was 19 years old.
Richard was born to Lisa Barlow and Richard Elkins, Sr., on October 10, 2003, in Billings,
Montana. He was the second child and first son of Lisa and Rick, and the younger brother of
several older half-siblings on each side of the family.
Richard was a happy child, always interested in trying to help those around him. He deeply
valued loyalty and was fiercely protective of his siblings and close friends. From the time he was
small, he had a love for music. He listened to everything from classical composers to rap.
Richard had previously spoken of aspirations to join the military or secure an apprenticeship to
become a welder. He played SIYFL football and was a member of the NW Highland Bears team
under Coach Jason. He was a creative, intelligent, and dedicated individual, graduating early
with his G.E.D. at age 17. Richard was the sort of person who was 100% committed to anything
he decided to undertake. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was an incredible
uncle, cousin, brother, son, and partner.
While living in Idaho, Richard met his partner. The two were preparing to welcome their
daughter into the world.
Richard is survived by his parents, Lisa and Rick, as well as his grandfather, a grandmother,
seven sisters, three brothers, nine nieces, five nephews, his partner, and their daughter, three
aunts, and two uncles, along with many extended family members and friends.
While no funeral service is currently scheduled, the family has asked that anyone desiring to help
please make donations via Venmo using @Lisa-Elkins-71.
