Richard Goodsell Mcfadden

SALT LAKE CITY- Richard G. McFadden, 68, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Richard Goodsell McFadden was born January 10, 1944 to Maurice Edward and Ines Goodsell McFadden. He was raised in California, the middle of 6 rowdy boys. He spent his growing years as a typical boy building forts and playing games. His mom also taught him the fundamentals of cooking, cleaning and ironing. All traits that made for a great husband and father. He went to school in California until his Senior year when he moved to Preston, ID. This is when he fell in love with Idaho. He attended Weber State University for one year.

Richard married Connie Kjobech and had 5 children, Jaylene, Richard, Alan, Kristine, and Tara. They later divorced and Richard married Jackie Turpin Bullock. With this marriage he gained three more children Gina, Amy and Mandi.

He spent many years as a long haul truck driver. He had fun stories of the different foods he tasted while he was hauling and driving in New York City trying to find his way. He then moved back to Idaho and started working construction working in different states as well as locally. He eventually became co-owner of Idaho Industrial.

In the 35 years together, Richard and Jackie loved to go camping and fishing with family and friends. The most important vacation of the year was the Roy family reunion. “Yo the campground” and the water song were Richard's signature callings. The last 9 years they have become summer fixtures at Sea Gull Bay Yacht Club. Their days were spent 4 wheeling, playing poker and sitting around the campfire with good friends.

Richard was proceeded in death by his Father, a brother Alan, and a grandson Dakota Jacobsen. He is survived by his wife Jackie, his children Gina (Darren) Gates, Jaylene (Mike) Groeniger, Richard McFadden, Amy (Rob) Bruce, Mandi (John) Everett, Alan (Heather) McFadden, Kristine McFadden and Tara McFadden.

Funeral services for Richard will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., today, Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Wilks Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.
