Rhea Hickman

July 2, 1937 — May 17, 2017

Rhea Jean Boyce was born in Lava Hot Springs Idaho on Friday, July 02, 1937, to Daphne Watts Boyce and Myron Joseph Boyce. She passed away at a local care facility on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the youngest of 5 siblings, and spent her early years near Lava Hot Springs on Dempsey Creek. Latter she and her family moved to McCammon Idaho. She attended schools in Lava and McCammon.

Rhea married Alvin Neilsen and made their home in Pocatello. They had two children Kenneth and Sherrel. This marriage ended in divorce.

Rhea later married Perry Hickman. There was a fond relationship with Perry's children Dennis, Carol, and Janie. This union also ended in divorce.

In addition, during these times she earned a secretarial certificate and a high school equivalency, both from ISU. Rhea also enjoyed camping, cooking, dancing, bowling, reading, and karaoke.

Rhea worked as a waitress for many years, sometimes ran a home based business, worked in Albertsons bakery, was partners in a café (Old Timers), and finally retired from Argonne Laboratories kitchen service. Before retiring Rhea and Gene Converse spent many happy times boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities, until Gene‘s passing.

More recently Rhea enjoyed many Senior Center events.

Rhea is survived by her sister May (Wapato, Washington), children Kenneth and Cindy (Rhea's BFF), and Sherrel, grandchildren Phillip, Kenny, Shawntae, Diamond, Cheyenne, and great grandchildren Kira, and Ember (all of Pocatello). Preceding her in her death were parents Myron and Daphne, sister Ann, brother Mike, and sister Peggie. No services are scheduled at this time.
