Rebecca L. Phelps, 66, passed away January 30, 2017 at her home in Pocatello.
Becky was born August 3, 1950 in Twin Falls Idaho to Harvey and Helen Meunier. She attended Catholic school during her elementary school years and graduated from Twin Falls High School. She attended CSI in Twin Falls and later graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in special education. She taught special education at Blackfoot High School for many years and finished out her teaching career in Pocatello having taught at Highland High School, Pocatello High School and the Juvenile Detention Center. She had to end the career she loved early due to a physical disability.
Becky loved to volunteer and could always be seen at the various community foot races and NKA activities. She was an avid crafter and loved to knit, needlepoint and recently learned origami. She was also an avid Bunko and Mahjong player and often hosted the games in her home. Her other loves were gambling and travel. She has taken cruises to most parts of the world.
Becky married Louis Wells. They later divorced. She married Kerry Phelps and they had a son, Jeremy Phelps. They later divorced.
Becky is preceded in death by both of her parents and a sister Margaret. She is survived by her son Jeremy (Sarah) Phelps, a sister Ann, a brother Tom, as well as two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A committal service will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
