Raymond C. King passed away peacefully on June 14, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1935 to Roy and Uarda King in Twin Falls, Idaho. He attended school there as well as in Hansen and Boise where he met and married Goldie Chappell. They had two daughters together before divorcing.
Ray served as a medic in the US Army, later receiving his GED in Germany. He went on to complete an electronics course at ISU where he met and married Leda Evans. They had 5 children together.
He was a hard-working jack-of-all-trades his whole life. He accepted a position with the FAA as an electronic technician working both installation and maintenance of electronic navigational aids. After 24 years, he retired from the FAA and went back to ISU to become a computer programmer. He commuted to Idaho Falls for 6 years where he worked at 2 different companies. His last job was at ISU.
Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, cooking, playing computer games and visiting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, a great-granddaughter, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, one brother and one sister-in-law.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Kathy (Jim) Garner, Brenda King, Tracy (Mathew) Miller, Valerie (Kelly) Smith; sons, Jeffrey (Cheryl) King, Chris (Helen) King; eight grandchildren; and one brother Richard (Quita) King.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will follow services in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
