Randy Earl Smith

October 2, 1967 — July 3, 2022

Randy E Smith passed away on Sunday July 3, 2022, after a long, brave fight against cancer.  We celebrate his strength, goodness, commitment and courage throughout his life to his family and all those around him. He leaves a legacy of hope, optimism, humor and unconditional love that we will always cherish. He was born on October 2, 1967, to Earl and Marilyn Smith. He is the third child of six children. Randy led the crew in mischief and hard work whether it was farming at Beaver Dams or playing with siblings and friends around Lava Hot Springs, ID. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School Class of ‘86 where he played football. He later attended BYU and the University of Utah.

He married the love of his life, Lisa Ann Felty, on September 10, 1994. He became a second father to Teresa “T”, Nichalos “Nick”, and Jonathan “J”. Their youngest, Andrew, was born into their family just a few years later. They spent their time together in Pocatello, ID. His wife and children were the center of his life. They enjoyed spending time with him watching the Utah Jazz, camping, traveling, and playing a good game of cards! He was a jack of all trades and a true artist at heart whether it was through drawing, building, cooking or making us laugh and feel loved and picked on all at the same time.

He worked at Snake River Supply for some time and more recently for Purvis Industries in Pocatello. We are grateful to Purvis for their patience and support through the struggles of Randy’s fight against cancer. We also express appreciation to those at Prime Time Auction who have been such a compassionate support to Lisa.

He is survived by his wife Lisa; children Teresa Vialpando (spouse Jerry Gondola), Nichalos Vialpando (spouse AshliJo), Jonathan Summit, and Andrew Smith; grandchildren Kaelan, Camden, Isaac, and Brooklyn; parents Earl Harlan Smith and Marilyn Hathaway Smith; siblings Margene Morris (spouse Jonathan), Karen Holladay (spouse Walter), Rosilee Lawson (spouse Bret), William Smith (spouse Wendy), and Natalie Morrison (spouse Darwin).

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday July 13th at 11 am at the Mountain View Cemetery 1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83205 in section 55 E.
