Ramona Denlinger Verner passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at a local care center. Our beautiful, sweet, mother is now with her Lord and Savior.
She was born April 8, 1934, to Wendell and Marie Denlinger in Kellogg, Idaho. Ramona attended school in Kellogg until an illness forced her to a warmer climate. She graduated Pomona High School in California in 1953.
She attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, where she met and married the love of her life, Roy Verner. Four children were born to their union. She loved living the life of a Forester's wife, where they lived in many beautiful places that she enjoyed exploring. They were married 41 years when Roy died in 1997. Ramona was a 3-time cancer survivor and participated in many Relay for Life programs.
Ramona was a member of the Calvary Alliance Church in Pocatello. Her pleasures were reading, genealogy, and Bible study but her greatest joy was her family.
Ramona is survived by her son Eric Verner, his wife Alice, and their daughter Kelley of Idaho Falls; her son Gary Verner, his wife Diane and their daughters Allison and Madison of Caldwell; her daughter and son-in-law Jan and Dave Cooper and their children Dakota and Ashlen; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Sherri Denlinger of Spokane; sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Lisle Swift of Spokane and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramona was preceded in death by her mother Marie Cornwall Denlinger; an infant son Karl Allen; her father Wendell Hill Denlinger; husband Roy Verner; stepmother Mabel Denlinger Barnhill; and sister Nadyne Heglund Melior.
Special thanks to Alliance Hospice, Quinn Meadows Rehabilitation Center, and Quail Ridge Assisted Living for the loving care of our sweet mother.
