Ramona Edna Knotwell

POCATELLO " Ramona Edna Knotwell, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 27, 2008 at a local care facility. She was born on March 13, 1921 to Chris & Esther Hoopes Mortensen in Rigby, Idaho. She spent her early years in Poplar and later lived in Kilgore and Spencer. Joe and Ramona moved to Dubois in 1964 and lived there in the home they built, until they moved to Pocatello in 2006 to be closer to family.

She married LeRoy Brown in 1940. She was widowed in 1945 when LeRoy was killed while serving in the military during World War II. Ramona then married Joseph Knotwell on May 2, 1946 in Dillon, MT.

Ramona spent time as a 4-H leader and did volunteer work at the Dubois Senior Citizens Center and many other community activities in Dubois. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, and enjoyed sewing, baking, spending time with her grandsons, reading, and sharing books with many friends. She had many good times with her husband and family in the outdoors as they camped, fished and hunted, and was always glad to see wildlife and flowers when they were out. Ramona was proud to be a good homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Highland Hills staff and residents, as well as the many doctors, nurses, therapists and aides that took care of her, and became her friends.

Ramona is survived by; her daughter, Terri (Bruce) Small, Pocatello; grandsons, Clayton M. Small, Bryan, TX and Cole J. Small, Driggs, ID.

She was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Joseph Knotwell; and siblings, Florence, Mary, Edith, Kay, Leo and Howard.

Honoring Ramona's wishes there will be no public services held at this time.
