Rafael was born on December 6, 1934 in San Pablo Pejo Gto, Mexico. He married Ninfa Fernandez on November 13, 1958 and during their time together they welcomed six children into their home. In raising his children he set about teaching them compassion towards others and dedication to God and church. His children remember him as a driven man who worked hard and never gave up. He loved to work his land whether it be planting new fruit trees, working in his garden, or building something new. He loved the outdoors and did not mind the heat. Next to his children his biggest accomplishment was gaining his citizenship here in the United States of America.

Rafael was accomplished at healing and praying and often helped those in need. He was a witty, dedicated individual who loved the Lord and who was passionate about helping those in physical pain. He would always take the time to stop and pray with a friend or stranger. He was dedicated to his church and was an active member of Abundant Life Church in Harlingen, TX where he loved to worship and serve the Lord.

A funeral is scheduled for August 27, viewing will be at 12:30 and ceremony will be at 2:00 at Wilks Funeral Home in Chubbuck, ID. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rafael's life. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Abundant Life Church Children's Ministry at 101 N O Street Harlingen, Texas 78550.
